I’ve been a little behind in answering emails lately, so sorry if any Mimbo questions have fallen through the cracks.
For that reason, I decided to set up a forum so users of Mimbo can discuss customizations and make feature requests. I think it’s ultimately easier to keep all that discussion in one place anyway so we can all share the knowledge. Feel free to discuss other WP-theme related topics too.

Awesome. Something else to keep me from what I should be doing! :)
Thanks again for the effort, Darren. I’m hooked!

Great theme, thanks for that. I am in the process of setting up a site for a friend and wanted to use your theme for that site. Some of the elements of the site will be similar to Hoodgrown Magazine, essentially a largish masthead, thats where I am currently stuck. I can’t seem to get a decent sized masthead into place. I did follow the instructions on the change of the H1 in styles.css but it still does not work. Can you give me the specific dimensions of the masthead?
Once agan, brilliant theme and concept.
Cheers…Kishore

That’s pretty funny. I was coming here to see the status of the forum and was going to suggest Vanilla. I’ll keep an eye on it.
--November 19, 2007 @ 4:33 pmI have used it on an existing WP blog, seems like the category view and search results views are not working..
--November 26, 2007 @ 2:48 amDarren,
Absolutely smashing theme! Very pristine. I am also trying to place a masthead, and have followed the instructions to change the h1 in style.css, but it doesn’t seem to be showing up.
Thanks for offering such a fantastic resource!

--January 18, 2008 @ 8:49 pmVERY nice theme, and VERY easily configurable. Thanks for the good work. I have incorporated the theme, with some additional toys, at my site here:

--February 5, 2008 @ 6:15 pmI love this theme! I am having some problems with it though. Maybe it is just me, but I keep getting random errors on the home page. Some times it loads fine but about every other time I get this error message. Can anyone help?

I am using pages instead of posts for different sections of my magazine website. How can i configure the search box to look at the pages of the site instead of only the posts?
--March 17, 2008 @ 1:06 pmIs there a way to make the sidebar info page specific, allowing differnt advertisiers for each page?
--March 17, 2008 @ 1:08 pmI fixed my post above (9)!!!
--March 17, 2008 @ 2:19 pmplease delete my above posts..I just realized I put them in the wrong place
--March 17, 2008 @ 2:21 pmHi,
Beautiful, clean and crisp design. Perfect for what I need.
I was wondering if there is any way to have the index.php display differing numbers of posts for the sections (in your site example Gadgets, Music and Style headings).
I understand that this code calls the categories to display.
<?php query_posts(”showposts=1&cat=$category”)
But is there a way to have category 106 display 1 post, cat 102 - 2 posts and cat 100 - 4 posts and cat 105 display 6 posts?
I guess the other way around this would be to find a way to identify two categories and have a larger value for showposts. I’m publishing a music magazine and would like to display news, letters, whatever from one issue so the category could then be cat=102(news)+20(issue number).
If I were to take the latter approach there may be an problem in identifying which category name to print with the combined categories - there may be a way to identify the first cat as the name value. Combined categories would be my prefered option because I’d then only have to edit a couple of numbers for each update, but either approach would work.
Any assistance would be appreciated and many thanks to Darren for producing such a schmick template.
Cheers

--March 29, 2008 @ 8:23 amProblems with duplication of posts all over
Hello Mimbo people
I have installed and configured my Mimbo Theme with new headbanner etc. My blog is cultural blog about islam and culture. I’m excited about the theme but has run into some problems.
I have changed Index.php to reflect the correct ID numbers for “Lead Story”, “Categories” and “Features.” I even tried to call the categories it the same names as the Mimbo demo.
Still I have a big problem. Every time I post something, fx a lead story, then I tick only the relevant category (here Lead). Nevertheless, my new post appears under all the categories I have created, here: “Lead Story”, “Features”, “Gadgets”, “Style” and “Music”.
First I installed WP 2.3 and had my blog running there, but with massive duplication spam. Then I deleted my SQL database, created a new, uploaded WP 2.5., started all over and crossed my fingers. But the reuslt is the same: every time I post something in one category, it appears everywhere. In index.php I also defined that it should only display 1 post. Nevertheless it displays all posts there.
What do I do wrong? Does anyone know the solution to this problem, then I would be very gratefull.
Regards

--April 14, 2008 @ 9:26 amHi Darren,
I absolutely love your theme. Thanks for creating it.
I have one question. For some reason I am unable to view the site in IE, it works fine in Firefox. Can you offer any suggestions? Thanks
