Mimbo News & Customizations, Part IV

Mimbo News & Customizations, Part IV

March 07, 2008 ( 19 )

First things first — with Wordpress 2.5 due out on Monday, we’d like to give the community, and ourselves, at least a couple days to install/adjust before launching Mimbo Pro. Otherwise things are going great and we’re finishing up the last of hosting and commerce issues.

In other news, I’ve seen some really beautiful Mimbo customizations in the last two months, check them out!

Wow those are some really nice customizations, wish i had that skill to do such things, can’t wait for mimbo pro.

  2. Great examples of how this theme is so flexible and accommodating! I never could get into dressing up the visual aspects to such an extent — I’m more of a functional hacks/improvements kind of person. In fact, I just released my second blog last month using the Mimbo theme. It’s a photoblog, and the functions and layouts work perfectly with such a site. Thanks again for all your continuing hard work on this Darren!

Like waiting for Christmas morning! And here I was hoping to use this weekend to redo my blogs.

Those customizations are very nice - I have no eye for color and design (which is why I’m a writer!) And I love that you included Moonlight Detective- one of my favorite show’s fan sites!

Looking at these makes me wonder why anyone would want to buy some of the other ‘premium magazine’ themes. Mimbo is better than the vast majority right out of the box, and it’s free!

    Thanks for the link Darren.

Mimbo rocks true and true - the site is not quite finished yet, but no worries - it’ll be done this weekend.

Thanks for all your hard work on Mimbo. Brap Brap!

got a stupid question; dos the pro version have a “mambo pro” link at the bottom & can we remove it.. not that i don’t want to give credit to the author but r whole site is going pro in a way and that would make us look….. (don’t know how to put it)

Thanks for including our site in your post. We’ve received so many compliments since switching the layout to Mimbo, and we love how it gives us the flexibility to feature different content throughout the main page. Looking forward to seeing Mimbo Pro!

  14. Looks like WP 2.5 has been delayed at least a week. Any chances of a release before 2.5 is released?

How does the Mimbo theme work with 2.5? Any tweaks or updates needed?

I installed Mimbo on my blog a while ago but honestly have been putting off really developing it until 2.5 came out just to make sure it didn’t have any issues before I push the button and switch themes.
